Websites on green were loading slowly this morning. Automated crawlers, mostly Meta's AI crawler, were downloading thousands of files from one website on the server, which used up its capacity. At the same time the server was hit with a flood of junk connections.
We blocked the source of the junk connections, restarted the part of the server that had jammed, and put a speed limit on those crawlers. Everything has been normal since 11 am.
